As an emergency care training site, whether we are paid for or volunteer our services, We will uphold and maintain the highest possible standards of professional and ethical behavior in all of our emergency care training, planning and or consulting endeavors.
Specific principles and tenets that We pledge to follow & support:
to teach only First Aid, CPR and AED curricula that meet national or international standards or guidelines and have been approved, accepted, recognized, or endorsed by appropriate regulatory authorities or professional/academic accreditation entities.
to be accurate and conscientious in the presentation of all AHA curricula we utilize and to follow generally accepted principles of education and training.
to convey all required information and conduct all necessary practical skills sessions in the time frames determined appropriate and prescribed in the selected curricula.
to maintain established instructor to student and student to manikin/equipment ratios during all practical skill sessions.
to truthfully portray our credentials and personal expertise.
to devote the necessary time and effort to prepare an appropriate learning environment, including necessary printed materials, audio-visual aids and practice material/equipment prior to each class we conduct.
to maintain professional appearance and demeanor during each class we teach.
to be informed of, and comply with, all relevant/applicable state, federal and/or local statutes, regulations, or policies concerning initial emergency care preparedness and training.
to encourage students to maintain their knowledge and skills through regular retraining sessions, including emergency care drills, simulations, scenarios, skill practice sessions and required refresher training.
to promote and encourage integration of on-site emergency medical response plans (including AED & PAD programs) with community EMS Systems.
to issue cards and certificates only to those individuals who have attended and successfully completed all program requirements.
to maintain and enhance our abilities as an initial emergency care instructor by participating in professional development programs and continuing education opportunities.
to respect the individual and diverse abilities, backgrounds, and needs of all students.
to adhere to fair and honest business practices and demonstrate personal and professional integrity in all transactions with clients, colleagues, manufacturers, and competitors.
to the best of our ability, help all students develop the reasonable and appropriate knowledge, skills and confidence needed to respond to sudden illness and injury events.
